$50 Bathroom Makeover

bathroom collaboration decor diy home

Hey friends! It's been a while.  It's no secret I am the worlds worst blogger.  I am going to make a conscious effort to get better at this! Today I wanted to share with you a budget friendly makeover I recently did in our bathroom.  If you've followed me on Instagram for any amount of time, you would already know our house is small (hence the name LITTLEhouseon100) We only have ONE bathroom.  We don't even have a half bath... just this one small space.  While a few years back we did a new vanity, new flooring and a new shower/tub, I made some really poor design and decor choices.  It wasn't awful, but it certainly wasn't very farmhouse.

Here are a few before photos:

Definitely not the worst bathroom in the world but the aqua walls were KIILLING me.  I had no real desire to do anything about it- until I found these awesome DIYCartel pipe brackets. These were the perfect reason to get moving on this bathroom project. So I grabbed a can of paint and wood we had leftover from another project then ran to Hobby Lobby to get the finishing touches. In less than 2 hours I was able to completely transform this small space into my own little farmhouse bathroom.

I really wanted to add as much character to this space as possible for the least amount of money.  Shiplap is so amazing but it can get pricey.  I'm not sure my husband wanted me to put 50 more holes in the wall, so I decided to do Sharpie Shiplap.  I had my reservations about how it would turn out, but I figured if I really hated it all I had to do was paint over it.  Guess what? I happened to not hate it one little bit.  I found the perfect mirror at Hobby Lobby that was just a bit too light, so I quickly stained it with some Minwax Dark Walnut we had and it came out just right.

Hands down my favorite part of this project are these shelves! The pipe brackets are the perfect touch for a bathroom and having these shelves here allow me to decorate and give this space so much more character than before.  I moved around decor from other rooms of the house and made those two signs.  I picked up those canisters from Hobby Lobby when I grabbed the mirror.  And just like that this little bathroom when from blah to cute and farmhouse-y in one afternoon!

So what do you think?
